WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY INVOLVE
No two days can be the same, with the nature of aviation and airports being that situations can arise at short notice.
• Whilst proactive PR such as new route announcements or business growth can often be planned in advance, more reactive PR such as the impact of changes in weather conditions or other operational issues can involve dealing with media enquiries at short notice. In today’s 24 hour news environment, the need to respond quickly, but in the best way for the business is particularly important.
• Whilst the PR department is the intermediary between the Airport Company and the wider media it relies upon a close working relationship with all departments across the airport and as a consequence needs to have a good understanding of all operational aspects of the business.
