Flights to Liverpool

If you plan to fly to Liverpool soon - whether it is to visit the city and surrounding areas, or simply as a stop-over on a journey to somewhere else – LJLA would like to ensure you experience all our airport has to offer, as well as Liverpool’s unrivalled (in our opinion!) history and culture. Before you arrive, check if your flights to Liverpool enable you to enjoy some relaxation time in the airport itself, or if you even have enough time to venture outside Liverpool and visit the surrounding areas.

In The City

The variety of transport links to and from Liverpool John Lennon Airport makes getting to and from the airport extremely easy. Regular bus services operate from the airport, as well as the options of travelling by train, taxi or car, both into the city centre or elsewhere in the North West.

If you are planning on exploring all that Liverpool has to offer, there are countless cultural and historic spots to put on your list of places to see and things to do. The airport itself is just 10 minutes away from Strawberry Field, made famous by the Beatles, as well as John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s childhood homes. Both Goodison Park and Anfield Stadium, homes to the city’s football teams Everton FC and Liverpool FC, are just a 30-minute car journey from Liverpool Airport.

A few of our recommended things to do in Liverpool include:

  • The Beatles Story – learn all about the Fab Four and how they put Liverpool on the map
  • Once you’ve learnt the history why not head to Mathew St and the world famous Cavern Club.
  • Liverpool World Museum – one of many of the city’s incredible museums, featuring artefacts dating back tens of thousands of years
  • The Walker Art Gallery – home to renaissance masterpieces, Tudor portraits and contemporary art
  • Liverpool Anglican Cathedral – this spectacular building is the fifth largest cathedral in the world
  • Sefton Park – a glorious 235-acre Grade 1 historic park located just outside the city centre
  • Panoramic 34 – enjoy some of the city’s most exquisite high-end cuisine with panoramic views of the entire city.
