The 'A' Team is a volunteer scheme run here at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) enabling local people to be part of airport life.
Joining the ‘A’ Team is a brilliant opportunity for any member of the community looking for a Volunteer opportunity for any number of reasons- to gain work experience, meet new people or simply just to help passengers!
The 'A' Team are an important part of the team at LJLA and include a diverse range of people. From young people wishing to gain work experience skills to retirees using their experience and knowledge to help fundraise for our charity partners, to those with an interest in travel and tourism who would just like to be involved. Whatever your reason for joining the 'A' Team you will meet new people, develop and refine skills such as teamwork and have a great time in a busy, thriving environment where no two days are ever the same!

Unpaid Voluntary Role
Three Dimensional Training are working with Liverpool John Lennon to support their Volunteer Programme and are looking for volunteers to join Liverpool John Lennon Airport as a member of their 'A-Team'!
This is an unpaid role but if you are passionate about working with people and want to increase your knowledge and experience of working in the airport environment, then this could be the role for you.
As a proud member of ‘The A-Team’ you will provide high quality customer assistance and information to airport users. This may include advising passengers on the liquid regulations and assisting them with any pre-security questions, helping passengers at the boarding card barriers and assisting with the security queues during busy periods.
You would also be a point of contact for advice and guidance for inbound and outbound passengers e.g. toilets, check-in, PRM (passenger with reduced mobility) provider locations, as well as offering inbound passengers advice and guidance about onward travel (public transport) and the Liverpool City Region.
If you become a member of ‘The A-Team’ you will work within the Terminal Building assisting the Airport Duty Manager with day-to-day customer queries both landside and airside and will therefore need to be a person who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service within an airport operation. This role will also include with the collection of feedback from airport users through our ASQ customer satisfaction surveys.
As a member of ‘The A-Team’ you may also have the opportunity to help with other adhoc Airport events such as football flights, school tours and fundraising events.
This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy engaging with members of the public and have a genuine interest in Travel and Tourism. If you can speak a second language this is desirable, but it is not essential.

- All volunteers will need to obtain an Airport Security Pass which requires a clean Criminal Record Check, full 5 year reference history and security training.
- Full uniform will be provided to all volunteers.
- We are happy for members of our A-Team to volunteer at times that suit their lifestyle.
- Volunteers will be provided with and travel and subsistence allowance.
