This week, low-cost carrier Ryanair, launches eight brand new routes linking Liverpool John Lennon Airport with some European destinations for the very first time. Two of the eight unique services include the Hungarian City of Budapest and Stockholm in Sweden. The further six new services commencing this week include Bydgoszcz and Lodz in Poland, Madrid, Belfast, and Canary Islands, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.

To celebrate, two lucky passengers checking-in at LJLA for the inaugural flight to Belfast were presented with Champagne and a flight voucher courtesy of Ryanair. Tom and Doreen Corran from Crawford Burn Nr Bangor, Belfast were flying via Liverpool to Belfast after visiting their son in Madrid. They were pleasantly surprised to receive their prizes.

Robin Tudor, General Manager- Government and Corporate Affairs, at LJLA said: “We’re delighted to see Ryanair’s eight new routes commence to such a wide range of destinations which will no doubt appeal to many passengers across the North West. As the winter draws nearer this is the ideal time to escape to Spain or the Canary Islands for some winter sun or enjoy the Christmas Markets in Budapest and Stockholm. We wish all the routes every success.”

Welcoming the new routes, Ryanair’s Head of Sales & Marketing UK Caroline Baldwin, said: "We are delighted to launch eight new services from Liverpool this week including brand new country destinations Hungary and Northern Ireland. Ryanair continues to expand choice to Liverpool and Merseyside consumers as well as increase the accessibility of the region for travellers throughout Europe.

“Passengers who haven’t already joined Ryanair’s lowest fare revolution can still do so during our massive 50% off offer with fares starting at just £5 including taxes and charges. We urge all passengers to book straight away as demand for Liverpool’s guaranteed lowest fares will be huge.”
