According to a recent survey produced by Which? – Europe’s largest consumer rights organisation, a comparison of parking fees at a number of UK airports, shows that parking at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is the cheapest in England and one of the cheapest in the UK.

The survey looked at a range of parking opportunities across 15 of the UK’s busiest airports with Liverpool only being beaten on price for cheapest on-site parking by Belfast International Airport.

The weekly cost quoted in the Which? report, of just £27.99 is an example of the low fees available for passengers pre-booking their parking via the Airport’s website and using the on-site car park which is only a short walk to the terminal building, not requiring the inconvenience of waiting for a shuttle bus to transfer to a more remote facility.

As well as price, the Airport also focuses on customer service and recently received much praise following its decision to waive any additional car parking charges incurred by passengers stranded overseas during the volcanic ash cloud disruption.

The Which? report also contained examples of poor customer service when passengers had used valet parking and off site parking schemes. At LJLA passengers park their own cars, keep their keys with them, and don’t have to wait around on their return journey.

LJLA has a range of car parking opportunities including short stay and premium parking products for those passengers looking for the convenience of being able to park closest to the terminal and the ‘Price Buster’ scheme offering customers the lowest available fee for the onsite long stay car park.

Sammy Patel, Peel Airports Group Head of Car Parks Business commented, ”We try to strike a balance here at Liverpool between offering excellent value low cost parking for those on a tight budget, to a more premium car parking product for those customers prepared to pay for the benefits of maximum convenience.

We are naturally delighted that of those airports surveyed, this comprehensive Which? report highlights that Liverpool has the cheapest onsite airport car park in England and we aim to grow our reputation for giving our customers great value for money.”
