PERSONAL QUALITIES
• An ability to understand technical information, as pilots need to know how their aircraft works.
• Excellent spatial awareness and coordination.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to think quickly and make decisions in difficult situations remaining calm under pressure.
• Discipline, self-confidence and commitment.
• Leadership skills, with the ability to give clear commands to cabin crew and passengers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of five GCSEs and two A-levels.
• A good level of understanding of Maths and Physics is necessary; therefore, any qualifications that demonstrate this will be advantageous.
• A degree or postgraduate qualification is not required, although some people may choose to take one to make them stand out from other competition.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
• None specific, generally good physical and mental health.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring the safety of the Aircraft, crew and passengers
• Ensuring you stay within your legally allowed flying hours.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY INVOLVE
• Logging into the database to see notices to the crew and checking critical information that is on there.
• Log in to view your flight plan, this will include information on fuel, routes and timings.
• Ensure the Aircraft has had all of the relevant safety checks.
• Receive weather updates for all locations that are relevant for the destination you are about to fly to.
• Inputting the flight plan onto the planes system.
