easyJet have today announced that they will be adding a further route to their network from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) with a twice weekly service to the Mediterranean island of Malta, commencing on 13th June, as part of their Summer 2010 schedule.

With its nine Liverpool based aircraft, easyJet now offers a choice of 24 European destinations from LJLA and this latest news follows on from the airline’s recent arrival of their new Airbus A320 being based at Liverpool and which started flights to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura earlier this month.

Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Peel Airports added, “It’s great to see flights to Malta available once again from Liverpool. It’s an island with tremendous history and culture and easyJet’s latest addition to their services from here will give the region’s passengers more destinations to choose from at LJLA with some great low fares to this Mediterranean destination.”

Trevor Spinks, easyJet’s Marketing Manager for the North West commented “easyJet is clearly the airline of choice in the region as increasing numbers of passengers choose our low fares, convenient product to major airports. We are committed to the region and look forward to further expansion.”
