easyJet’s newest route from Liverpool started this morning with passengers jetting off on the airline’s inaugural flight to Antalya in Turkey.

Flights operate weekly on Thursdays throughout the summer, providing travellers from the North West with a direct route to another popular Turkish resort from Liverpool, joining routes already available to Dalaman and Bodrum.

The new route to Antalya is expected to prove popular with those seeking a cultural getaway; the port city offers an abundance of historic attractions and is situated on what is known as the Turquoise Coast for its stunning blue waters.

Paul Winfield, Director of Aviation Development for Liverpool John Lennon Airport commented:

“Passengers from across the North West and North Wales now have the opportunity to fly from Liverpool with easyJet to the three main Turkish Mediterranean holiday destinations, with this new route complementing the airline’s existing services to Dalaman and Bodrum.”
